The Optex OVS-02GT Virtual Loop 2.0 Vehicle Presence Sensor is an advanced above-ground radar-based vehicle detection sensor designed for automatic gates, barrier arms, parking systems, and industrial doors. With an extended 26-foot detection range, the OVS-02GT eliminates the need for traditional in-ground loop detectors by providing accurate vehicle presence detection without cutting, coring, or drilling concrete or asphalt.
Utilizing advanced Distance Measuring Radar (FMCW) technology, the OVS-02GT reliably detects both stationary and moving vehicles—from compact cars to large commercial trucks—while intelligently ignoring most pedestrian traffic. Its flexible configuration allows installers to program the sensor to either ignore or detect human movement depending on the application, making it ideal for security gates, parking facilities, commercial properties, industrial sites, and residential communities.
Installation is fast and non-invasive. The sensor mounts directly to a wall, pole, barrier housing, or standard single-gang electrical box and is configured using the free Virtual Loop smartphone app for iOS and Android. Additional features include dual relay outputs, a built-in heater for reliable cold-weather operation, adjustable detection angles, and an IP66-rated weather-resistant enclosure for dependable year-round performance.
