The Optex OVS-01CC Vehicle Counting Sensor is an advanced above-ground virtual loop sensor designed specifically for vehicle counting applications. With an adjustable 26-foot detection range, the OVS-01CC accurately counts both moving and stationary vehicles while intelligently filtering out most pedestrian traffic. By eliminating the need for traditional in-ground inductive loops, this sensor significantly reduces installation time, labor costs, and disruption to existing pavement.
Utilizing dual microwave technologies (Doppler Shift and FMCW), the OVS-01CC delivers dependable vehicle detection in virtually all weather and lighting conditions. The detection area can be customized using 8 adjustable range settings, 5 sensitivity levels, and 5 human-cancellation settings, while one-touch calibration makes setup quick and straightforward. Designed for single-lane traffic applications, the OVS-01CC is an excellent solution for parking facilities, retail centers, transportation monitoring, gated communities, and traffic management systems.
Mounted approximately 20–36 inches above the ground, the sensor detects vehicles traveling at speeds up to 60 km/h (37 mph) without requiring concrete cutting, trenching, or loop installation.
