The Optex OAM-Explorer US is a premium combination microwave and active infrared (AIR) sensor engineered specifically for industrial overhead doors, warehouse doors, loading docks, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities. By combining a large microwave activation zone with three rows of active infrared safety detection, the OAM-Explorer provides reliable door activation while enhancing safety for forklifts, vehicles, and pedestrians operating around industrial door openings.
Designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments, the OAM-Explorer uses 24 GHz microwave Doppler technology to detect approaching forklifts, trucks, and other vehicles while the active infrared safety field monitors the threshold area to help prevent door closure when an obstruction is present. Three independently programmable relay outputs—including Activation, Supplemental Safety, and AUX/Pre-Notification—allow integration with warning lights, audible alarms, and other external safety devices to improve workplace awareness and reduce collision risks.
Installation and setup are streamlined through the OPTEX smartphone app, allowing installers to configure detection zones, sensitivity, relay functions, and save preferred settings without repeatedly climbing ladders. The tool-free adjustment design significantly reduces installation time while improving overall job-site safety.
