The EMX PC-3 Photo Eye Kit includes both the receiver (RX) and transmitter (TX) to provide dependable through-beam obstruction detection for overhead garage doors and rolling doors. Designed to work with automatic door operators that accept dry-contact safety inputs, the PC-3 offers a simple, cost-effective safety solution for commercial and industrial door applications.
Unlike retroreflective sensors, the PC-3 utilizes a through-beam infrared system, with the transmitter and receiver mounted on opposite sides of the door opening. This design provides reliable detection that is not affected by shiny surfaces, while the modulated infrared beam resists interference from sunlight, dust, rain, and dirt. An integrated LED alignment indicator makes installation quick and straightforward, with no calibration or sensitivity adjustments required.
The PC-3 is intended for garage doors and rolling doors and is suitable for indoor or protected outdoor installations with an operating range of up to 30 feet. For sliding gates, swing gates, and parking barriers, EMX recommends the IRB-4X series instead.
