The EMX IRB-EXP Explosion-Proof Photo Eye Kit is a heavy-duty infrared through-beam safety sensor engineered for automatic gate and door operators installed in hazardous or explosive environments. This complete kit includes both the receiver (RX) and transmitter (TX) housed in rugged explosion-proof cast aluminum enclosures, providing reliable obstacle detection where standard photo eyes cannot be used. Designed for industrial applications, the IRB-EXP offers an operating range of up to 115 feet and is certified for use in hazardous locations.
The through-beam infrared design provides dependable detection that is unaffected by shiny or reflective surfaces. Its lens-less optical design minimizes the effects of sunlight, fog, dust, rain, and snow while simplifying alignment. The rugged NEMA 4 & 7 enclosure features a copper-free aluminum housing with an epoxy finish and is certified for NEC Class I and Class II hazardous locations, making it ideal for refineries, chemical plants, fuel terminals, grain handling facilities, and other industrial environments.
